One of my fascinations besides death and ghosts..(sorry, i didn't make me this way.) Is Post Mortem pictures from the victorian days. When you consider that the victorians didn't view death as we do now. It's not quit as morbid. Sometimes these pictures were the only pictures they had of the loved one that passed. Alot of times they would take family photos of the deceased posed so they looked alive so they would have that one last family photo. This is one of my favorite sites on this. Warning !! Warning !! www.boatswain.nl/pm01/pmtexteng.htmlThe next album pages contain only photographs of deceased children and babies. These photographs can be disturbing for softhearted people. If you are, then avoid these pages and hit the "home" button The next album pages contain only photographs of deceased children and babies. These photographs can be disturbing for softhearted people. I have several pictures of my newborn son that passed. One of them is displayed with the other children. My parents had a giant fit about it and thought i should put it away. That picture is the only picture i have of him. Its all i will ever have.

You know I don't consider myself to be morbid and I am quite soft hearted but these pictures were done with so much care that they are actually beautiful They all just look like sleeping children. I was most amazed by the ones taken with the child's eyes open... It makes us know that the animation of life is truly our spirit and it is beautiful no matter what shape it embodies within a child. Thanks for posting this.
I wanted so much to take a photo of my son at his funeral when he passed away but I recalled his saying that he never wanted anyone to photograph him if he died. He truly looked as low he was just sleeping.

The victorians actually painted eyes on the eyelids of people to make them look alive.
