In August of "2007" I moved back to Indiana from Illinois to care
for my parents.
My Dad was a Parkinsons patient in the late
stages of the disease and my Mom suffered with life threatening
pulmonary problems.
They had been in a nursing home and my
hopes were to bring them to Illinois but that was not such an easy
goal to work for.
They both needed particular care and the home
that could provide it had a waiting list.
So after less then a year it
was inevitable that I come back to care for them.
My Dad had not been able to speak for almost 4 years with any
audible understanding and he was partly paralyzed by the
disease. He in effect was a total care patient.
Although I was well
trained it was quite a difficult task, but together with Al and my
daughter we took care of him.
On a number of occasions in the middle of the night I would wake
up feeling as if there was someone in the room standing above
me just looking at me.
On one of these nights I fully expected to
open my eyes and see my Dad standing there.
I jumped out of
my bed and went into their room and he was sound asleep and in
his hospital bed with rails up.
The thing was I could smell his
cologne in my room and my dogs were also aware of something.
I kind of chuckled to myself dismissing it as stress and being so
over tired. After all he couldn't walk.
I believe my Dad was having
out of body experiences and that he was watching over me.
So I
have been searching answers in this.
